Kamal Nath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has led the protest against the new Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens on December 25th.

According to Chief Minister Nath, any act or law which is biased and discriminates on the religion basis, cannot be in favor of the constitution of any country and he would not allow the implementation of such rule.

He expressed while addressing the march in Bhopal, “this law is fiddling with the constitution of our country. I haven’t seen such a law before in my parliamentary career. We are known for bridging the gap between communities and not for dividing them. We won’t let this law take effect in the state.”

After CM of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, Mr. Kamal Nath is the second chief minister to lead protest march against the new citizenship rule.

According to the new law, Muslims will not be granting citizenship and Indian opposition parties are not in favor of the new amendment because it’s against the country’s constitution.
