Now all the foreigners traveling to Saudi Arabia for business will need to get pre-approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

The pre-approval will be required before a Business Visit Visa application is submitted because invitation letters for Commercial and Visit visa letters that were used before are no longer required.

The new rule also impacts certain visa eligibility conditions and extends the overall lead time for business visitors to enter Saudi Arabia.

The new visa rule will extend processing time for the visa as well as certain visa eligibility conditions will also be changed for business visitors.

The applicants can obtain approval electronically through the official website of MOFA.

The Business Visa can be obtained by company owners, investors, members of boards of directors, managers, and other company representatives. It is yet to be cleared if applicants with technical skills will be able to obtain the Business Visit Visa or not.
