Prime Minister Imran Khan parted with need-based Ehsaas undergrad scholarship in the primary stage to the first batch of deserving brilliant brilliant students.
As a feature of Ehsaas, 2 percent of grants will be solely granted to students with special needs.
The Ehsaas Scholarship Programme is being actualized across the nation and, as indicated by the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety and Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Dr Sania Nishtar, these grants will cover 100 percent of the education cost and a living stipend of Rs4,000 (Dh95.11) every month.
The land spread of the program, as per Nishtar, will cover each of the four areas, Pakistan-Administered Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
Consistently, 50,000 students from low-pay families will be granted grants for 4-to 5-year college degree programs, she said.
The achievement and continuation of the grant programs in future years will rely on the viability, upkeep of scholastic execution by the students and the assessment of the ideal outcomes.
The program will be supervised by the Ehsaas Scholarships Steering Committee, co-led by HEC executive BISP director.
As indicated by the poverty alleviation division, the grant program tries to kill disparity in access to advanced education.
“Not at all like past grants that were focused on MS or PhD programs, Ehsaas Scholarships center around the most basic section specifically the 4-year undergrad program, which contributes the most to pay potential,” said Dr Sania Nishtar.
All students in Pakistan who are admitted to a four-year degree program in an HEC-recognised public sector university or its subsidiary colleges, with family pay poverty threshold (to be fixed each year by the Ehsaas Scholarships Steering Committee) are qualified to get the grant.
The program is available to students in every single significant field of training, specifically agriculture, arts and humanities, business education, engineering, medical, physical sciences, and social sciences.
The last honor list is posted freely at the college and is likewise made accessible on the HEC site just as the college’s site. Selected students have to open bank accounts, and stipends will be deposited directly into the accounts.
