Since March 28, the government of China has restricted entry for many foreign nationals; this includes holders of valid visas or residence permits.

Now according to the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian: The coronavirus pandemic situation is now under control in various countries, and people are looking ahead to plan foreign trips. Therefore, China is soothing the visa process systematically and gently. The visa restrictions for foreign nationals entering China is about to reopen for economic operations and other necessary purposes. Another point to emphasize is that those who have a valid visa or residence permit but need the visa renewal, the Chinese embassies and consulates will give them visa service free of charge.“

This announcement of China to reopen visa services for 36 European countries indicates that China is reversing the travel ban of foreign nationals that were put in late March when the coronavirus pandemic influenced various countries.
