On March 11, around 299 candidates were invited by Manitoba to apply for a provincial nomination.

This is the fifth MPNP (Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program) draw of 2021. • International Education Stream— 3 invitations
  • Skilled Workers Overseas— 35 invitations.
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba— 261 invitations with a minimum score of 459.

In this draw, 35 Letters of Advice to Apply went to EE (Express Entry) applicants.

Express Entry

Canada Express Entry system handles the applications of skilled workers. It is possible to obtain an invitation to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry directly. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada issued such invitations. Also, you can get an invitation from a province such as Manitoba by entering the Express Entry pool.

You need to fulfill the necessities of one of the three Express Entry streams to enter the Express Entry pool. After this, you are ranked on the basis of a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that considers the following factors.

  • Age
  • Work experience
  • Education
  • Language skills

All the top-scoring applicants obtain Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian PR (permanent residence) through regular EE draws.

If you get a provincial nomination from a PNP (Provincial Nominee Program), you receive an extra 600 CRS points. This will ensure that you will obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

About the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

You have to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP if you wish to take advantage of provincial nomination from Manitoba. This allows you to possibly get an LAA (Letter of Advice to Apply) through the following streams.

  1. Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  2. Skilled Workers Overseas

For their human capital factors and their connections to the province, Manitoba ranks applicants out of 1,000 points.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas stream allow the province to discover applicants who fulfill its labor market requirements.

All the overseas applicants are required to show connections to Manitoba through close family relations, earlier experience in Manitoba, or an invitation through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. To be qualified, at the time of your application, you do not need to be living in Manitoba.

You require a full-time job offer from a provincial employer if you want to obtain an invitation under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream.

Under the International Education Stream, all the foreign graduates who complete education in Manitoba can obtain an LAA. Also, they need to show that they have in-demand skills.
